DSCP raising cash with no relevance to road safety yet again

They seem to have some new toys that they need to pay for. This site has already been highlighted as the most ridiculous place to rigidly enforce the unsuitable 30 limit.

On this occasion, I walked past the van which was open and challenged the operators about what they were doing and how it contributed to road safety. The response was along the lines of “we have a list of sites we have been asked to work at and this is one of them”. So the operators do not have any ideas about what is safe, what is not, and how to best use the clearly expensive resources that critically need to be best employed to reduce the still unacceptable accident rates on the roads.

It seems that also those who design the operations do not either. Compared to the multitude of problems on the roads, anyone who really believes that operations like this are best positioned to make safety improvements are clearly completely incompetent.
